Frequently asked questions
Short answers. If something’s missing, the how-to guides go deeper.
What is OOOIPilot?+
A camera-first electronic logbook for airline pilots. Photograph the ACARS/FMS OOOI page and your OUT/OFF/ON/IN times, route, and tail fill in automatically - confirm in under 10 seconds.
Do I have to type anything?+
Usually no. Scan the OOOI page and confirm. For the aircraft tail/type, type your N-number into the CDU scratchpad before photographing (see the guides) and even that fills in automatically.
Does it work offline?+
Yes. OCR runs on your device and your logbook is stored locally first, so you can log with no signal at the gate or at altitude. It syncs to the cloud when you’re back online.
Is my data private?+
Your logbook is yours. It’s stored on your device and, when you sign in, in your own cloud account visible only to you. We don’t sell your data. You can export or delete everything at any time.
What does it cost?+
Free forever - create a free account and keep your logbook for life: on-device scan, add/edit/delete unlimited flights, currency, registry auto-fill, CSV/JSON + printable export of your own data, heat-map, sync, and free CSV/HTML import. There is no trial - Free is permanent. Full Access is $64/yr (founding pilots start at $32, rate-locked for life) - adds app-funded cloud AI OCR for tough or glary pages, multi-photo batch upload, advanced exports (8710/IACRA/ATP + airline packs), FAR-117 duty/rest legality, a document wallet with expiry reminders, advanced map layers, priority support, and unlimited AI logbook import.
Can I import my existing logbook?+
Yes. Switching from LogTen, ForeFlight, or MyFlightbook? Import a CSV or HTML export, a PDF, or even a photo of a paper logbook - from Settings or the dashboard. CSV and HTML are read instantly and free; PDFs and photos use AI. You review and map every flight before anything is saved.
How much does AI import (PDF or photo) cost?+
It’s free if you add your own OpenAI key in Settings. Otherwise it’s a flat $5 one-time per import, for any size logbook - and it’s included with Full Access. CSV and HTML imports are always free.
Which exports are supported?+
CSV and print/PDF, plus airline-application column profiles (AirlineApps, PilotCredentials) and FAA summaries (8710-1, IACRA) - generated from your logged flights.
Does it handle partial legs?+
Yes. Scan OUT/OFF at the gate and save the open leg; scan the completed OOOI after landing and OOOIPilot merges ON/IN into the same flight - no duplicates.
What aircraft does the registry cover?+
500,000+ aircraft worldwide - US N-numbers and international registrations (G-, D-, F-, C-, VH-, and more) - mapping tail to make, model, and ICAO type.
Is this a legal logbook of record?+
OOOIPilot is designed to be your authoritative digital logbook with exports for airline applications and FAA forms. As with any logbook, you’re responsible for the accuracy of your entries - always review before signing or submitting.
How do I contact support?+
Email support@oooipilot.com - a real person reads it. Feature requests welcome too.
