Get a clean scan (good vs bad)

Kill glare, fill the frame, wipe the CDU - the small habits that make every read a confident green.

A good scan fills the frame square on; a poor scan is angled, cropped or washed out by glareGoodOUT 1342OFF 1401ON 1533IN 1541Fills the frame, square on, every line sharp.RetakeOUT 13??OFF 14O1ON 1533Angled, cropped, glare across the times.
The scan screen framing an OOOI page, with an explicit shutter, an upload-photo button and coaching about focus, glare and filling the frame.
  1. What a good scan looks like
    • Fill the frame: get the OOOI block to fill most of the photo - closer beats straight-on-but-far.
    • Screen roughly square-on to the camera.
    • No glare across the digits.
  2. What to avoid
    • Far away, hard glare, motion blur, or half the OOOI box cut off.
  3. Kill the glare

Tilt the phone a few degrees so the cockpit lights don't reflect off the screen.

  4. Wipe a smudgy CDU

A quick wipe beats any amount of image processing.

  5. Any display style works

Green-on-black, white-on-black, amber CRT - all fine. OOOIPilot normalizes the colors and contrast before reading.
