When a photo is too hard to read on-device
Scanning runs on your device. When a glary CDU beats it, Full Access escalates that one photo to a stronger reader.

Every scan is read on your device first. That is what makes scanning work with no signal, and it means the ordinary case never leaves the aircraft.
- What triggers the escalation
Confidence, not preference. When the on-device read cannot cross-check the times against the page's own BLOCK and FLIGHT totals - usually glare, a smudged screen, or a photograph taken at an angle - that single image is sent to a stronger reader and the better answer comes back.
- You are never billed for it
The escalation is funded by the app, not metered to you. There is no per-scan charge and no credit balance to watch.
- If you would rather it did not
Turn it off in Settings. Scanning keeps working on-device exactly as before; you will simply correct a hard photo by hand more often.
